Bios
Mike Long is currently the Chief of Asset Management Division for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Long has been with PennDOT for 29 years, 24 of which have been in various civil engineering capacities within Roadway Management and Asset Management. He holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Penn State and is a licensed professional engineer in Pennsylvania.
Corbin Davis is a Community Planner with FHWA’s Office of Planning, Environment, and Realty in Washington, D.C. He is a national leader in policy development and implementation for transportation performance management and transportation planning for State DOTs and MPOs. Davis recently served as the project manager for the “Assessment on the Effectiveness of Performance-Based Planning and Programming in Transportation Decision-Making for State DOTs and MPOs”, available at fhwa.dot.gov.
Eric Bess is a graduate of West Virginia University Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in engineering technology. He has 24 years of overall experience in a wide variety of fields. He spent five years in the coal mining industry with maintenance and engineering, followed by 13 years leading GIS initiatives in the oil & gas industry. He is currently approaching his seventh year in consulting, where he has worked as project manager on various water, wastewater, stormwater, and transportation projects. Throughout his career, his duties and skills have always touched on asset management at some level. His range of experience covers a multitude of tasks including database development, workflow and dataflow process management, training, reporting and analysis, asset management, data management, field personnel management and QA/QC of various datasets for numerous business needs. Most recently, he has been the consultant project manager for supporting the WVDOH in development of their Transportation Asset Management Plan (TAMP) and supporting analytic systems.
